Blondes hit 4200gns at Carlisle

Last Friday’s sale of British Blondes at Carlisle saw a strong demand with bulls selling to a top price of 4200gns for the second entry in the ring, Drumraymond Comet from Henry and Stephen Griffin. He is by leading sire Druk Lance and out of Drumraymond Rose, a Whistley Dollar daughter. He sold to J and J E Bradley, Skipton, N Yorks.

 Next best at 3000gns was Peter de Giles’ Bilsington Ciboure. By homebred sire Bilsington Snowdon, an Everest son, and out of Bilsington Rhune, this one sold to A Baillie, Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire.

And at the same money was Sandridge Christian from R G King. He’s by another Druk sire, this time Druk Uriah, and is out of Sandridge Rachel. Christian sold with a beef value of +22 to Llew Jones. Corwen, Wales, having been overall champion at the Midlands Club show.

Then at 2100gns was another from Mr de Giles, Bilsington Clearnight. He’s also by Snowdon and is out of Whistley Dauphin daughter Bilsington Midnight. He went home with his herdmate to Newton Stewart with Mr Baillie.
