Bluefaced Leicesters hit £6000 at Castle Douglas

Bluefaced Leicester breeders enjoyed another healthy days trading at Castle Douglas on Saturday when prices hit a peak of £6000 for the pre-sale show champion, a ram lamb from Stewart Parke and Eunice Mills. This one is by A1 Glenane Magners and out of a dam by Y1 Shafthill. He sold to Jimmy Bell, Cottage and Messrs Kay.

(hutch)348s.jpgAnother Magners son, this time from Jimmy Bell, sold at £2600. This one was snapped up by Telfor Branton.(hutch)254s.jpgAnother by Magners from Mr Bell netted hom £2500 when selling to A Minto and Son.

At £3000 was a shearling from the Craigskean flock. This was by Y29 Riddings and out of a dam by V1 Ty Gwyn and sold to Mains of Larg. A similarly bred tup lamb also sold at £3000 to Messrs Brown, Agglethorpe.(hutch)185s.jpg

And making £2800 was a shearling from Alec Brown by Y34 Midlock and out of dam by a £5800 Greenriggs sire. It heads to Northern Ireland with Robert Loughbridge.
