Border and Lakeland Club tops at 2200gns

This week’s Border and Lakeland Club show and sale of Holsteins at Carlisle saw two heifers forward sell for more than 2000gns and a top price of 2200gns for a daughter of Markwell MRSH Braveheart from the Wilson family’s Stowbeck herd, Penrith. Buyer here was W A Clark, Lockerbie.

At 2100gns, Dalesend farms sold a heifer by the USA-bred bull Regancrest-Mr Samuelo. She took the overall championship under judge Andrew Waddell, Lanarkshire, who later purchased the heifer.

Averages: six heifers in milk £1890 (Harrison and Hetherington).
