Top price at last week’s Border and Lakeland Club sale at Carlisle was a 2600gns bid for Warnelview Encreedible Viola from Kevin and Christine Wilson, Carlisle.
Not entered in the pre-sale show this one is by Krull Encredible and out of Stillbrook Viola 5, an Ex93 classified dam. She was bought by Steven Innes, for the New Meadow herd, Nairn.
Second best in the Club’s section of the sale was a 2350gns call for another from the same home, Warnelview Bonair Dance, a Karona Bonair daughter out of a Comestar Outside dam. She also sold to Mr Innes.
Making the same price was Snow Appleby from G and M Wilson and Son, Appleby. This Ladino Park Talent daughter is out of a VG88 classified Convincer-sired dam and sold to J Harrison, Wickerfield, Penrith.
The selling at 2300gns was Kingscaird Aspen Briana from Peter Kemp, Cairdhillock, Aberdeen. Sired by EK-Oseeana Aspen, this in-milk cow is bred from the Wedgwood Briana family and sold to Mr Innes.
A second transaction at this money saw Mr Innes add to his load, buying the champion from the pre-sale show Cormick Shottle Magic, a daughter of Picston Shottle from a wonderful Canadian family. She was consigned by D and B T McCormick, Caste Douglas.
The same day saw Len Dudiug offer his Dunnotar herd, with a top price of 2600gns paid for a recently calved daughter of Emerald Acres Baxter. This heifer sold for 2600gns, again heading north with Mr Innes.
Selling for 2400gns, again to Mr Innes, was Dunnottar Homestead Zenaan, an impressive daughter of Bomaz Homestead.
And not far behind and selling for 2300gns was Dunnottar Homestead Roselin, a freshly calved heifer which again headed to Nairn with Mr Innes.
A draft from the Lawson family’s Lismulligan herd of British Friesians was offered on the same day, selling to a top of 1450gns for maiden heifer Adams Cherry 13, a daughter of Deangate Prince. She sold to an undisclosed buyer.
