Border and Lakeland Holsteins hit 2500gns

Younger, fitter cows were much in demand at yesterday’s Border and Lakeland Holstein Club sale, Carlisle, when prices peaked at 2500gns for the day’s pre-sale show champion Wormanby Final Cut Princess from H and M D Hodgson. This daughter of Gillette Final Cut is out of Wormanby Atom Princess, a VG87 rated dam and calved in January. This one sold to Messrs Kennedy’s Stari herd, Ayrshire.

Champion 240210.JPGAt the same money was Cormick Jasper Roxy from David McCormick. This October 2005-born cow is by Wilcoxview Jasper and out of Cormick RJ Roxy. She gave 8063 in her first lactation and was sold giving 41kg a day having calved at the beginning of January. She was bought by Andrew Bargh, Woodclose, Penrith.

Then at 2300gns was another from the Hodgsons, Wormanby Mr Sam Betty, by Regancrest-MR Durham, this is out of Wormanby Jasper Betty 26, an Ex90 ranked dam by Wilcoxview Jasper. This September 2007-born entry calved in January and was bought by A and C Robertson, Rothesay.

A pair then sold at 2250gns was the best of the day from W J Armour, Annandale MF Reintje. This one is by Annandale Moviestar and out of Annandale Reintje, a VG85 dam. She sold to I T and E M Carlyle, Longtown.

The other at this money was Wormanby Lorenzo Gwen, a Lystel Lorenzo daughter out of Mayne Grand Gwen, an Ex 90 classified cow with two milkings above 10,000. She sold to having calved on 10 January to B D Kennedy, Tarbolton.
