Breed Stalwarts take supreme Hereford title

There was a terrific display of Herefords on show at Shewsbury Livestock Market for the Annual Christmas Calf Show which this year incorporated the National Calf Show. One hundred and ten calves were present, the largest single display of Herefords in Europe.

This years show had an International feel with several Danish Hereford Breeders attending the show in support of Judge, Anders Mortensen. Anders of Woodlands Herefords, the oldest herd in Denmark, established in 1966.

Taking the Supreme Championship was Heifer Champion, Dendor 1 Greta from DE, ED & AL Jones, Dendor Herefords, Caersws, Powys. This is the second successive year that the Breed stalwarts from Wales have taken the Supreme Championship at the Christmas Calf Show.
