Breeding cattle sought after at Dingwall

Commercial breeding females were in demand at Dingwall last week, with bulling heifers selling to a peak of £1200 for Shorthorn crosses from Invertruim, Newtonmore.

In the heifers with calves at foot the best sale was a £2400 bid for a British Blue cross heifer with a Limousin cross calf from Andrew Anderson, Smallburn Farms. The same vendor led the heifers with male calves, with a Saler cross with a Limousin cross calf making £1650 and a Shorthorn cross heifer with a British Blue cross calf making the same money.
