Brief Lanark Select Seven and Beltex report

Here is a brief run down of the trade from yesterday’s Select Seven Texel sale and the Beltex female sale at Lanark, more details will follow later today.

In the Select Seven sale trade was led by a pair of 5000gns bids, both made by Graham Morrison. He paid this money for lots 35 and 113.

Then at 4500gns was lot three which sold to N Douglas, Yarrow. Following at 3200gns was lot 94 which sold to Tom Bagan, Stewarton and making 3000gns was lot 95 when selling to John Mellin, Hull House.

At 2600gns was lot 16 which sold to Robert Cockburn, Connachan, with lot 1 selling at 2400gns to J Cullen, Carluke. Making 2200gns was lot 114 which sold to P McNickle, Peebles and at 2000gns was lot 24 selling to Kier Jarvie. Making the same money was lot 37 when bought by A McCrae, Huntly, again at the same price was 2000gns was lot 41 selling to J Winter and then also at that price was lot 99 when bought by J and A Struthers.

In the Beltex the top call in the older ewes was a 1600gns bid for lot 5 which was taken by M R Cropper, Huntly. Top in the shearlings was a 2000gns for lot 48 which went to Robert Wallace, Ballantrae, at 1500gns was lot 18 which was sold to W Linton.

Top in the ewe lambs was lot 117 at 1800gns which went to M R Cropper and at 1400gns was lot 97 which went to Robert Wallace.
