Bristol Simmentals reach 4200gns peak
Simmentals sold to a high of 4200gns at Bristol on Saturday when the day’s reserve male champion, Crackley Whiteknight from Messrs Booth and Bell, sold to Neil Cole, Yelverton, Devon. This one is a son of Lamhoj Supery and is out of Crackley Cornelia, a Crackley Judge daughter.
Second top in the bulls was a 3500gns bid for Tilbrook Warrior, a Kilbride Farm Newry son from Peter Burgess. This one is out of Tilbrook Rona, an Arkmill Franklyn daughter with a TSI of +32 and an SRI of +38. He sold to C Amplett, Craven Arms, Shropshire.
No fewer than six bulls shared the next best price of 3000gns, the first of which was senior bull Wroxhall Welldone from the Evans family. Again by Lamhoj Supery and out of Wroxhall Kitty Grace 2 , a Milnaufa Grenade daughter. This one, with a TSI of +21 and an SRI of +19 he sold to Mr Jones, Newtown, Powys.
Next at this price was Tilbrook Watty from Peter Burgess. Sired by Samark Superman and out of Tilbrook Nell, another by Milnaufa Grenade, he has a TSI of +23 and an SRI of +26. Buying this one was Mr Allin, Probus, Cornwall.
The third transaction at this level saw Hirwaun Winston from A Davies sell to Mr Renshaw, Stoke-on-Trent. This is a son of homebred sire Hirwaun Rooney and is out of Hirwaun Mabli 2, a Camus Brandy daughter. He carries a TSI of +13 and an SRI of +14.
Fourth at this money was Beanhill Warrior, a Celtic Rock son from R J and B E Kimber. Out of a homebred dam by Agardsley Elgar, he has a TSI of +33 and an SRI of +39 and sold to David and Nicky Field, Swindon.
The penultimate 3000gns sale was for the pre-sale champion Penwern Wilson from R W Jenkins, sired by Penwern Simon and out of Parcytrap Princess, a Woodhall Extra Special daughter. He was bought by Mr Counsell, Cheddar.
And finally at this price was Crackley Woodstock from Messrs Booth and Bell. Sired by Lamhoj Supery and out of Crackley Cornelia, a Crackley Hannibal daughter, he sold to Mr Milfin, Chippenham.
Taking the top price in the females on offer was one which passed unsold through the ring, but which sold afterwards, Wishful Vanilla from David Mills. this Brinkton Brilliant daughter traded at 3500gns to an undisclosed buyer. Out of Wishful Krumpet, a Sacombe Wishfull Thinking daughter, she was sold in-calf to 22,000gns sire Dirnanean Typhoon.
Best sale through the ring was a 2700gns sale for the day’s female champion, Sterling Julia’s Waneta from Boddington Estates. She is by Sterling Alex and out of Sterling Andalucia’s Julia, a Sterling Flint daughter. She sold to Messrs Arnold, Leicester.
After that came two lots at 2500gns, the first being Sterling Leona’s Sunrise, a Woodhall Captain daughter out of Sterling Aubrieta’s Leona, a Flint daughter. She sold with her January-born bull calf at foot, Sterling Brian 10, a Blackford Rory son. Buying this one was Mr Fisher.
The other at this money was Crakley Cornelia 64 from the Booth and Bell partnership. She is by Langmose Triton and out of Crackley Cornelia 49, a Crackley Judge daughter. Sold with her November born bull calf, Crackley Augustus 09, at foot, she sold to Mr Huntley, Pontyprid. (Stags).
