Cairness lamb wins National championship

A ram lamb from the noted Cairness flock of Aberdeenshire breeder Jimmy Douglas stood champion at the Suffolk Sheep Society’s National Show and Sale at Shrewsbury.

The ET-bred lamb is by Muiresk Messi and out of one of the flock’s top ewes by the 68,000gns Muiresk King of Diamonds.

The reserve championship went to Chris Holmes, Broadway, Worcestershire with a lamb from his Rookery flock. It was by Deveronside Destroyer and out of a ewe by Rhaeadr Obsession. The judge was Mr Arthur O’Keefe from Co Cork.
