Caithness North Country Cheviots hit £4800 top call

A top price of £4800 was achieved at Caithness Livestock Centre’s show and sale of North Country Cheviots last Friday.

Champion and top priced ram was a shearling by Smiddyquoy Mighty White from D N Campbell and Sons, Bardnaclavan, Westfield which sold in a two way split to J and J Farquhar, Smiddyquoy, Watten and J S MacKay, Biggins, Killimster.

CAITHNESS NCC TUP SALE CHAMPION 2010.jpgSelling at £2000 was a shearling from J S Baillie and Co, Sebay, Tankerness which went to G Cormack and Sons, Wester, Dunnet, Thurso, while the reserve champion was a shearling by Achalone Amazing from J McClymont, Wemyss Castle Home Farm, East Wemyss, Fife which sold for £1700 to D J and M Allan, Durran Mains, Castletown.

The champion ram lamb from J H Williams and Son, Pengroes, Brynsiencyn, Anglesey sold for £350 to judge Angus Maclean.
