Carleton dairy dispersal hits 1,620gns

The dispersal sale of the Carleton herd of pedigree Holsteins on behalf RR Basey-Fisher and Son, Norwich, topped at 1,620gns when they went under the hammer at Beeston Castle Auction.

Top seller was the fourth calver Carletonherd Constellation Buttergirl, a daughter of the stock Bull Forte Constellation. She sold in calf to Majestic Galaxy Algebra, due in October. Buyer was G Green and Son, Lach Dennis, Northwich.

Just shy of this at 1600gns was Carletonherd Prowler Bonita, a second calver by Sunshine-Dairy T Prowler, and due again in November to Relough Danube. She sold giving 33kg daily to RG and DJ Frith, Allostock, Knutsford.

Averages: 148 head, £1,134.
