Carlisle Beltex females still selling well

Female trade has stayed buoyant to the end here at Carlisle, with John Barclay enjoying a good run with his Beachy pen.

Top for John was a 1650gns call for Beachy Naebad, a full sister to today’s male and overall champion. She is by Clary Kaiser Chief. Then at 1200gns was Beachy Nugget, an ET Wonderboy daughter which sold to auctioneer Jimmy Little. At the same price was another Kaiser Chief daughter, Beachy No Fear and making 1150gns was Beachy Nixon, another by Kaiser Chief selling to Mr Owens.

In Elizabeth McAllister’s Artnagullion pen the best call was a 1300gns bid for the second prize ewe from earlier today, this was a Headlind Lackey daughter, Artnagullion Nigella. At 1200gns was Ulysses daughter Artnagullion Naff which was first prize ewe lamb at Balmoral last year and making the same money was Artnagullion Nibby, another Lackey daughter.

Now its on with the tup lambs, so it looks like being a late night here at Borderway, stay tuned for the best of the lamb prices from Taking Stock
