Carlisle Berrichons hit 1000gns

A little later than intended here is a brief report from last week’s Berrichon sale at Carlisle.

Top call was a 1000gns bid for a shearling tup from Will Cockbain, Keswick. This one, Rakefoot Jacobite, sold to A Lewis and Co, Thornhill, Dumfries.

Other leading bids include a brace of 700gns in the tup lambs and others at between 420gns and 580gns. I’m afraid that’s all the detail I have as I have no catalogue for the sale.

Averages; 1 ages tup ÂŁ525, 10 shearling tups ÂŁ465.15, 17 ram lambs ÂŁ394.68, three ewe lambs ÂŁ266 (Harrison and Hetherington).
