Carlisle breeding cattle topped at £3000
Last Friday’s sale of breeding cattle at Carlisle saw a mixed show of heifers and cows with calves at foot were forward with quality units being dearer than the last sale but plainer units slightly easier. Messrs Dickinson of High Knipe had a run of heifers and calves which averaged £2390 and topped at £3000 and £2900.
Cows with calves at foot topped at £1900 for a Limousin outfit from Broomhills. A small show of bulling heifers were on offer with trade peaking at £1340 for a Limousin from Old Rectory.
