Carlisle Charolais judging results
Well it look’s like it was a hectic day in Carlisle for the judging of the Charolais ahead of tomorrow’s sale.
Welshman John Howells had a good day taking the intermediate and overall championships with Gwenog Chisum, a Blelack Tycoon son. He’s out of Midas Rebecca, a Killadeas Jack daughter and has a TSI of +23 and an SRI of +31.
Taking the reserve overall title was the junior champion, Messrs Cant’s Panmure Denzel. This one is by Balbithan Volker and out of Panmure Valma, a Moyness Royal daughter. He carries a TSI of +16 and an SRI of +22.
Senior championship honours went to Goldies Champion from Hamish Goldie. By Goldies Uppermost and out of Kinclune Pipper this one is a May 2007-born entry and has exceptional figures of +46 and +50 respectively. Reserve senior champion was a Burradon Talisman son from the Campbell family, Thrunton Conqueror. He’s out of a Mowbraypark Orlando daughter Thrunton Snowflake and has a TSI of +20 and an SRI of +31.
Reserve intermediate was Esmore Evans’ Maerdy Cecil, a Talisman grandson by Voldemort with a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +35, while reserve junior was Peter Vasey’s Edenhurst Dynamo a Doonally New son out of a Hoffmeister daughter. His figures are +34 and +39 respectively.
With regards to the trade tomorrow my spies tell me Goldies Champion is the one to watch (again) and having had hime as my pick back in October at Perth I’ll stick by him again this time, the only question is whether he’ll make as much this time as then…….
