Carlisle Charolais sell to 3100gns

Friday’s sale of Charolais at Carlisle met a solid trade, peaking at 3100gns for one from Messrs Richardson, Kendal, Cumbria. Their sale leader, Laverock Concord is by AI sire Doonally New and out of Laverock Jetset, a Tattenhall Dartagnan daughter. He was bought by Messrs Coghill, Orkney.

At 3000gns was the best from the Thrunton consignment from Messrs Campbell, Thrunton Charmer. He’s by Burradon Talisman and is out of Mowbraypark Orlando daughter, Thrunton Sabrina. He was bought by R C Jackson, Holmrook, Cumbria.

A 2800gns call secured Swalesmoor Canyon from Swalesmoor Charolais. This Balthayock Universe son is out of Givendale Optimimistic and sold with a TSI of +22 and an SRI of +27 to Messrs Coghill.

At 2600gns was Stobarts Conquer from David Stobart. He’s also by Doonally New and out of Stobarts Ventura, a Thrunton Scania daughter. Buyer of this one was W M McCall and Co, Kircudbright.

Selling for 2500gns was Cotehouse Donald from E D Marshall, Derbyshire. He’s by Maerdy Orateur and out of Toberlane Glenda, a Brampton Diamant daughter. Taking this one home with a TSI of +20 and an SRI of +28 was O B Pugh, Blakemere, Hereford.

A brace then sold at 2400gns, the first of which was Greenall Corker from J R Green. Again by Doonally New, he’s out of Billingley Orka, a Brampton Forbidden daughter and sold with a TSI of +21. Buying this one were P and N M Cowshill, Barrow.

The second to trade at this level was Swalesmoor Canyon from Swalesmoor Charolais. This Balthayock Universe son is out of Givendale Optimimistic and has a TSI of +22 and an SRI of +27. He went home with A Shaw, Castle Douglas.
