Carlisle crossbred sale set to draw the crowds
After the extraordinary prices at Leyburn and more particularly Penrith last weekend, today and tomorrow will see the legions of commercial show cattle buyers descend on Carlisle’s Borderway Mart for that centre’s sale of crossbred heifers and steers.
However, like many things they do Harrison and Hetherington are doing a tad bigger than most, with more than 2600 cattle catalogued for the two day extravaganza.
Of course not all 2600 of these entries will be potential show winners, but I’d be quietly confident there will be a fair few top quality entries among those forward.
Sadly, I can’t be there, but I hope to bring you a few details later in the day as the sale progresses.
