Carlisle Galloway, Hereford and Whitebred Shorthorn highlights
Top price of the day in the pedigree beef cattle on offer at Carlisle last Friday has been a 2600gns call for the best of the Whitebred Shorthorn bulls on offer, Parton Vintage from Messrs Hewson.
This is a Broadleyfold Craig son out of Parton Penelope, a Murtholm Premier daughter and sold to Ardnaw Farms, Lochgilphead, Argyll.
At 2500gns was another of the Whitebreds on offer, Blackburn Ace from G Jackson. This is by Milnholm Scott and out of Blackburn Ivory, another by Murtholme Premier.
Having stood champion in the pre-sale show he sold to John Higgs Farms, Langholm, Dumfriesshire.
And at 2400gns in the Whitebreds was another from Messrs Hewson, Parton Prestigious. He’s a Broadleyfold Craig son out of Parton Suzanna, a Parton Sargeant daughter and sold to G and G Davies, Penderyn, Mid Glamorgan.
In the Herefords, the top price was a 2500gns sale for Romany 1 Frontier from Ron Wilson. This is a son of Baybridge 1 Atlas and is out of Romany 1 Dawn, a Free Town Longfellow daughter.

Then at 2000gns was Panmure 1 Frosty from J M Cant and Partners who sold to D and J Coulson Livestock, Middle Rasen, Market Rasen. He is a Solpoll 1 Brigadier son out of Panmure 1 Plum, a FS 1 Versace daughter. He carries a TSI of +14 and an SRI of +16.
Selling for 1900gns was another from the Wilsons, Romany 1 Federation. This is by Romany 1 Asteroid and out of Romany 1 Mink, a Romany 1 Atlas daughter. He has a TSI of +22 and an SRI of +27 and knocked down to K Lister and Sons, Skipton,
Taking the top price in the
Trading for 1800gns was Beanley Aztec, a Ben Lomond Kabull son from J Carr-Ellison. This one is out of Beanley Lucky a Kirkmabreck Keepsake daughter and went to L and H Kennedy,
