Carlisle store cattle to £1530

Store cattle hit a top call of £1530 at yesterday’s show and sale at Carlisle with the championhsip honours and top price going to a Limousin sired steer from Richard and John Wigham, Hargill House. This one, is by Fieldson Alfy and out of  a pure Lim dam.

Taking the reserve spot was David Hodgson with a Limousin x British Blue heifer. This 11 month old entry is by Hudscales Vane and out of a British Blue cow and sold for £1350.

Other Limousin steers made up  to £1220 from the Wighams, while entries form Church Style farm hit £1200.

Among the heifers the next best call was an £1100 bid for a Lim cross from John Smith-Jackson, Haltwhistle.
