Championship judging underway at Smithfield

Championship judging got underway here at 9am this morning in both cattle and sheep and in the sheep lines Andrew Bishop booked a spot in the overall later by taking the Continental shortwool title with a pair of Beltex cross lambs – watch out for these lambs taking the title later……

Reserve to these was John Hall with a pair of Texel crosses. Taking the native shortwool award was Richard Colegrave with a pair of Suffolk crosses and reserve was Malcolm Stewart with the second prize pair of Suffolks. Sadly my two pairs weren’t quite up to the mark this morning, so we didn’t get a sniff here.

In the cattle the steer championships are underway, so I’m away now to find the results from this….
