Charolais cross stores hit £958 at Shrewsbury

Store cattle prices continue to hit the big money and Shrewsbury Auction Centre was no exception last week as steers topped at £958 and heifers went to £905.

Top price for steers went to a Charolais cross weighing 575kg from J Byrne which was closely followed by £952 for another Charolais cross from Messrs M and G V Ellis and Son. Messrs G H and Z Brown took third place with £945 for a 545kg Limousin cross.

A pair of 535kg British Blonde cross heifers presented by Dave Egerton topped their section as they peaked at £905. Hot on his heels was George Brown making £850 for a bunch of Limousin cross heifers weighing 465kg.
