Charolais predictions from Perth

Well it’s another cold start to the second day at Perth, where today will see Charolais males and females shown, with judging starting at 9am this morning.

At 11am the bell will ring for the start of Simmental male selling, where trade will no doubt carry on in the brisk fashion it was in last night for females. I’m still banking on the Blackford bull making the money, I’ve seen one or two big pedigree names looking over him so we’ll wait and see.

As far as my Charolais predictions go, there are three bulls being talked about, the first is one from the large string from Esmor Evans, Maerdy Bronx is a well grown June bull by Maerdy Super. The other two causing a stir is Neil Caul’s Balnuith Brutus. Out of Ellern Noisette this September born bull is by the 30,000gns private bought Moyness Vivacious.

An outside chance in the sale ring tomorrow could be Andrew Hornall’s Fallenich Balig by Mortimers Tebay.
