Charolais sold in private deal for £15,000
Following swiftly along from this week’s Angus and Limousin trade a Charolais bull has been sold in a private deal for £15,000.
The bull, Edenhurst Cognac, is ranked in the top 5% of the breed for both terminal sire and self replacing indices and was bred by Peter Vasey, Wetheral, Carlisle.
By Oldstone Egbert and out of a Dingle Hoffmeister-sired dam, Cognac was bought by Sandy Innes, Nairn, Aberdeenshire for his Moyness herd.
We wait to see if the Charolais sale at Perth in 10 days time can top this price, I suspect it will!
