Charolais stores achieve £1078 Huntley record

A single consignment of 100 Charolais cross steers, from Duncan Urquhart, Buckie sold in Huntley on Thursday for a centre store ring record average of £1,078. The steers averaged 644.80kg and 167.39p/kg. The top lot made £1,250.

“This was a very, very strong run of steers which are currently in short supply,” commented UA auctioneer, Donald Young. “They were sold in lots of up to five, to buyers from Aberdeenshire to Yorkshire.”
