Charolais takes championship at Caithness

The first show of the 2008 spring season got underway at Caithness Livestock Centre this week with judge Mr A Shand, Ellon tapping out his champion in the form of a May-2006 born 729kg Charolais bullock from D A Budge, Brae Edge, Castletown which he purchased for £1180.The reserve championship was won by D.G Kennedy, Tresdale, Canisbay with a December-2005 born 649kg Belgian Blue heifer which fetched £990 to Angus Cumming, Tillydesk, Ellon.
