Charollais tups to 5600gns at Worcester

The shearling ram Loanhead Monarch of the Glen from Gregor and Bruce Ingram made the top price of 5,600gns at the British Charollais Sheep Society’s show and sale at Worcester.

By Rockville Golden Promise, he stood champion on the day, and goes to Vaughan Farms, Hereford.

Mr Marwood paid 4,000gns for the Ballyhibben Klass Act ram lamb Rhaeadr Nock from north Wales breeder Myfyr Evans.

Loanhead Magnum, a shearling by Crogham Hannibal 2nd, made 3000gns to T J Evans, Llanybydder and at the same money the ram lamb Aberkinsey Night Rider – by Glyn Coch Mr T – went to Gwynedd buyer C Evans.

Averages: 31 shearling rams £1139; two senior rams £1286; 109 ram lambs £1030 and 12 shearling ewes £469.
