Commercial buyers lead demand for Brecon Limousins

Leading an almost exclusively commercial trade for Limousin bulls at Brecon at 5800gns was Loosebeare Enrico from E W Quick and Sons, Crediton. Enrico is by the noted sire, Rainbow Simon, and is out of Loosebeare Sida, a Broadmeadows Cannon granddaughter. Next best at 5400gns was Gronw Excalibur from J and H Phillips, Whitland. This

Nexen son is out of the Grahams Poncho-sired Grahams Upsy. With a beef value +40, this one was was purchased by N D Gilder, Tewkesbury, Wilts.Gronw Excalibur 5400gns.jpgAt 5300gns was Dyfri Enterprise from D G and M J Edwards and Son, Cilycwm, Llandovery. By the French sire, Senateur, and out of the Ronick Gains daughter, Dyfri Jolie this August 2009 born bull heads with a beef value of +32 to E H Hamer and Son, Llangorse.Dyfri Enterprise 5300gns.jpgTaking at 5000gns bid was the champion from the pre-sale show Deri Enzo from T B and C D Griffiths, Llangain. He is by  Haltcliffe Blaze and is out of the Sable daughter, Mynach Berys. Sired by Sarkley Voltigeur and out of another Grahams Poncho daughter, Gronw Anna, with a beef value of +38, he ent home with Messrs Williams and Son, Mathry, Pembs.

And making 4100gns was Ashmans Finian from D C and E A Ashman. This Rainbow Simon son and out of the Ronick Hawk daughter, Exmoor Annabelle, who sported a beef value of +44 when purchased by J I H Jones and Son, Erw Gilfach, Builth Wells.

Top price in the females was a 4000gns sale for Corridam Tania, a nine year old cows from J G Evans, Lower Ffrydd, Caersws. This is  a Haltcliffe Hercules daughter and out of Corridan Layla, and sold suckling her Cloughhead Umpire-sired bull calf, Lowerffrydd Fireball to W L Hollow, St Ives, Cornwall. 

The female champion, Temeside Ellie from V A S and T V S Corbett sold at 2150gns. This heifer is by Bearbrook Banker and out of the homebred dam, Temeside Billie. She sold to J M Richards and Son, Hayle, Cornwall.

Averages; 61 bulls £3129.34, 33 heifers £1625.27, nine cows and calves £2835 (McCartneys).
