Dairy dispersal realises 1,750gns twice

The dispersal of the Broadfield herd of Holstein Friesians at Broadfield Court Estate, Worcester last week (4 June) saw two top bids of 1,750gns.

First at this money was a February calved heifer still giving 40kgs daily. She sold to J Rea and Sons, Ludlow, Shropshire.

Next at 1,750gns was a third calver, which had been calved a month and giving 45kgs daily after producing 10,100kgs in her last lactation. She was bought by Blaencediw Farms, Whitland, Carmarthenshire.
In-calf heifers peaked at 1,220gns for a daughter of a 10,464kgs cow calving in August. The buyers were Rees and Jones, Lampeter, Ceredigion.

Maiden heifers sold to 700gns and heifer calves to 260gns.
