Dairy Event 2009: Vets offer on-farm training

Key skills of more than 400 farmers and their staff could be transformed by a new series of training courses launched at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show.

FarmSkills by XLVets offers practical and farm-based training by vets and industry leaders and is flexible enough to cater for each farmer’s different needs and experiences, but structured enough to benefit their business, said XLVets’ Andrew Curwen.

FarmSkills training courses are already taking place across the UK, including courses in DIY AI, foot trimming, progressive poultry training and dry sow management.
