First sale of new season lambs attracts encouraging bids

The first sale of new season lambs at Exeter Livestock Centre saw prices stop at £86. This was for a pen of 42.2kg lambs from Messrs T H and P M Bolt, Tiverton as well as pen weighing in at 43kg from Messrs T G Mortimore and Son, Exeter.


Although only a small entry of 69 was forward, standard lambs weighing between 32.1kg-39kg topped at £75.50 with a top p/kg of 199. Medium weights (39.1-45.5) met the top price of the day at £86 with top p/kg at 204. Heavy weight (45.6-52kg) topped at £84.80 and 184p/kg.
