FSA board meet to discuss future of OTMS rule

THE FOOD Standards Agency is meeting to consider what advice it should give to Ministers on BSE testing and the ending of the Over Thirty Month Scheme.

The meeting is taking place in London on Mon (Aug 15).

The FSA board has said its advice will take into account the Independent Group’s report on the BSE testing system and the outcome of the Food and Veterinary Office inspection of Great Britain’s BSE controls in June.

The board will also consider responses to a written consultation earlier this year and feedback from four open meetings held across the UK.
