Full Carlisle Rouge report

Following on from the brief highlights I brought you on Friday evening, here is the full report from Friday’s Rouge sale at Carlisle.

Top call in the Rouge at Carlisle last week was a 1000gns bid for a ram lamb from Messrs Watkins. This was Millend L71, a Bennachie Knightrider son out a Millend E30-sired dam. This one sold to A J Graham, Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Following that at 800gns was a ram lamb from Moore Hamilton, Glengalliagh Lawson. This Kinsella Jackpot son is out of Glengalliagh D32, a Hiltonstown Buster daughter. He was bought by J Gate, Lostock Green, Northwhich.

At 750gns was the reserve male champion from Percy Tait, shearling ram Knighton K039. He is by Romer Henry and out of Broadwood Camilla. Buying this one were J Charlton and Sons, Cleator Moor, Cumbria.

And shortly behind that at 720gns was the male champion Bennachie King from Pat Imlah. He is by Magherabeg Colin and out of Bennachie Barroness, a Bennachie All Star daughter. He found a new home with T J Beckingham, North Wingfield, Chesterfield.1282011 Lot 1215.JPGThen 680gns was a shearling from Messrs Watkins, Millend K37. This son of Caereini Fancy Me is ouf of Millend G18, a Millend E30 daughter and was snapped up by Messrs Pollock and Tannahill, Coleraine, Co Derry.

Also at this money was another tup lamb from Moore Hamilton, Glengalliagh Lester. Again by Kinsella Jackpot he is out of an Oldwood Casper daughter and was bought by Percy Tait, Broughton.

Mr Tait later recouped his outlay when selling the best priced female of the day, the reserve female champion Knighton K006 at 800gns. This G6238 Knighton daughter is out of a Broadwood Fusion daughter and sold to T J Beckingham.

Second best in the females was a 550gns bid for a shearling from Moore Hamilton, Glengalliagh Klara. She is by Jackpot and out of an Oldwood Casper sired dam. Buying this one was J Gate, Lostock Green.

And then at 520gns was the best of the ewe lambs, Wrights Lady from Simon Wright. This is a J2 Tullyvallen daughter out of a dam by Broadwood Aristocrat. She sold to Paul Strickland, Austwick.
