Gisburn dairy trade peaks at £2480

A solid trade for dairy cattle at Gisburn Auction Mart last week saw the day’s top price of £2480 go to Messrs P and M Critchley.

Sired by Henkeseen Hillcrest, a son of Blackstar Emory and out of a VG85 dam, Newfold Hillcrest Geum attracted a strong interest before finally knocking down to H Bradley and Son, Colne, Lancashire.

Another from the same vendors went at £2060 to an undisclosed buyer, while the champion Affetside Nell 27 from Simon Thompson, Preston, went to the judge Philip Halhead of Norbreck Genetics for £2180 (Richard Turner and Son).
