Golden opportunity sees 2,650gns for Lilylane Diamond Bet

Auctioneers Greenslade Taylor Hunt held their Annual Golden Opportunity Sale at Sedgemoor Auction Centre. Fresh milk was again in strong demand selling to 2,650gns for Lilylane Diamond Bet a July calved heifer out of six generations of Ex and VG dams from AJ Bennett and Sons. At 2,300gns was Beneknowle Loader Meg 74th from PJ Andrews with Dorset Primrose Yogirl from Ian Dimond at 2,250gns.

Topping the cows was Bettiscombe Sanchez Elegance 2nd, a second calver giving 45kgs, she sold for 2,100gns. Roland and Simon Bugler also sold Final Cut Daisy 14th for 1,950gns. Another 2nd calver from Longmoor Farm Partners Barleypark Buckeye Patsy sold for 1,950gns.

In-calf Heifers from LS Pow and Sons sold to 1,620gns for a Wa-Del Hayden daughter due August to the Hereford. Others by the same sire sold to 1,600gns and 1,580gns.

Bulls sold to 2,000gns for Bettiscombe Windbrook Randy by Gillette Windbrook and out of an Ex93-2E dam from RE and HE Bugler and Partners. At 1,900gns was Crystal Extreme Brimstone from Crystal Holsteins.

A consignment of 65 Holstein Friesians from Messrs Westnedge and Knight of Surrey that were off lying and due next spring sold to 1,520gns, for a heifer calved last August due in February to the Hereford.

Heifer calves from WT Harding and Sons sold to 750gns for Westel Sentry Pamela 40th out of seven generations of Ex and VG dams.
