The government is on the hunt for businesses able to dispose of TB carcasses, in a move that will hopefully bridge links with industry.
They are inviting tenders for new government contracts for the collection, slaughter, salvage and disposal of cattle infected with bovine TB.
It’s hoped the move will encourage a closer link with industry, said Animal Health’s Julie Mattocks. “We are looking to encourage a close link with industry; assisting slaughterhouse capacity and management and minimising outgoings,” she said.
She also hoped the tenders, which have a deadline of Wednesday 17 March for expression of interest, would standardise processes.
