Hat-trick winners at Skipton’s monthly prime shows

Hat-trick winning exhibitors clinched the championships at Skipton’s June prime cattle and lamb shows. Taking the cattle title was David Bamforth for the third month in row, this time with a 22 month-old 590kg British Blue cross bullock which sold for 208.5p/kg (£1230) to Keelham Hall Farm Shop.CCM June prime beef champ pic.jpgMr Bamforth also won the reserve championship with another British Blue cross steer which weighed 515kg and sold for £169.5p/kg (£872).

Taking the top spot in the lamb classes was Robert Towers, Farleton, Lancaster, with a pen of five Charollais x Beltex which weighed in at 39kg which sold for £92 a head.CCM June prime lamb champs pic.jpgReserve spot also went to Mr Towers with a pen of $40kg lambs which made £89.50 apiece.
