Hexham and Northen Marts had 74 cattle forward this week, including six young bulls and 47 OTMS cattle, however, the auctioneers report a plainer show of cattle than previous weeks.
Top price/kg among the steers was a Limousin cross from Nunwick at 170.5p, while top price/head went to a Charolais steer at £1178.71 from Twizell Hall.
Among the OTMS cattle, the top price was £1187.63 for a Limousin cross cow from Brooms Farm, while a Charolais from Hepscott Manor made £1134.14.
Prime lambs also met a good trade and topped at £80/head twice for three-quarter Texel lambs from Aydonshields, Steel, which were purchased by Thompson Wholesale Meat.
Topping the ranks on pence/kg were a pen of Texel crosses from Highwood which made 191p/kg.
