High standards, busy showring
STRONG ENTRIES for all the livestock classes this year will ensure a high standard of competition in the showring and a busy time for the judges.
Entries for all livestock classes have been rising by 14% year-on-year, says the RASE, but the sheep classes recorded the biggest gains with a 20% average increase.
This year‘s beef classes have been so heavily oversubscribed that there was recently a waiting list of more than 100 animals, and a month before the show there were 296 dairy breed entries in the cattle classes compared with 250 last year.
