Today’s Blackface sale at Lanark has got off to a flying start with Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Aulhouseburn, taking bids of £65,000 and £20,000 already for tup lambs.
The top priced lamb sold to three buyers, with a half retained by the Blackwoods. The other buyers are Messrs Campbell, Glenrath, Billy Renwick, and Messrs Woodburn, Netherton.
Sharing a half of the £20,000 lamb were Messrs Murray, Crossflats, and Messrs MacArthur, Arnickle.
Latest news is a brace of five figure sales from the Dunlop family of Elmscleugh. One has gone at £19,000 and the second made £13,000.
Many thanks to my correspondent for the updates, more news to follow….
