He’s no stranger to the pedigree beef world and was out in force last week in Perth securing the top priced Charolais bull with neighbour Bill Bruce, but Monday night was Adrian Ivory’s best so far, as he was named Farmers Weekly’s Farmer of the Year.

Adrain had earlier in the night lifted the Young Farmer of the Year trophy as he impressed judges with his well managed, efficient and profitable beef and arable enterprise – Strathisla Farms, Meigle, Perthshire.

Adrian then beat the other 14 finalists to take the title of Farmer of the Year – FW’s editor Jane King described Adrian as an inspiration for all young farmers. “He has a simple business approach that balances the demands of farm and family life very well. He sets himself tough targets and is completely focussed on achieving them.”
