Limousin females to 7200gns at Carlisle

top priced heifer lot 62 - 7,200 gns web.jpgNorman Gentle, a March 2011-bred heifer by Glangwden Bigboy, led the trade at 7200gns at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s sale of females at Carlisle.

Consigned by local breeders E S and E Norman from Great Orton, Gentle is out of a Greenwell Major dam and was claimed by Boden and Davies for their herd at Stockport, Cheshire.

John McKeen from Wigton Cumbria created plenty of interest a few minutes earlier with a stylish young cow from his Hartlaw herd. By the Malibu son Satan and out of a dam by Delta, the 100% French-bred Hartlaw Colette was sold with a heifer calf at foot by Carmorn Dauphin. Buyer was J R McCann, Cupar, Fife. The same purchasers also gave 3800gns for Ironstone Faragh from Smiths of Bloxham. This Wilodge Vantastic heifer is just six-months-old and is out of a Jockey dam from the Tweedside herd.

A 4200gns call from Messrs Hunter, Alnwick, Northumberland secured them another Bigboy daughter from the Norman‘s consignment. Norman Groovy has a Beef Value of +37 and is out of a cow by Heathmount Trojan.
