Limousins reach 10,500gns at Carlisle


Spittalton Griffin, a December 2011-bred bull by Haltcliffe DJ, topped the bidding at 10,500gns at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s summer bull sale at Carlisle. Consigned by Stirlingshire breeders J Burnett and Sons, he goes to Gwynedd buyer K I Jones, Betws-y-Coed.

Fieldson Gobsmacker, from Lincolnshire vendor J W Fieldson, made 6,600gnsto S Ewart and Son, Dumfries. He is by the Haltcliffe Bravo son Fieldson Erasure.

A 6,000gns bid from G and G Brass, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria secured them Messrs Ridley’s Haltcliffe Hudson, which is by Cloughhead Ernie.

Two buyers shared the 5,000gns price tag of Fieldson Guna. By Cloughhead Umpire he goes to C and E Richens, Totnes, Devon and CP Groves, Bridgwater, Somerset. Local buyer P Dean, Brampton, also gave 5,000gns for Fieldson Hobnob, another Erasure son.
