Livestock 2012 – Maiden Heifer classes get underway

In the Maiden heifer classes, the Dairy Shorthorn entries saw N Madeley’s Nejay Violet 5 take first being praised by judge Gwyndaf James for being taller in front and having better depth of rib. It is by Nejay Amazon and out of Fletching Violet.

In the Guernsey Class Page & Newham’s Blanches Mash Polyanthus took the top title from a field of eight ‘easily – just sharp and with a good openness of rib’, said judge Pennysylvania-based judge David Trotter. This heifer is by Langhaven Tiller Nash and out of Easby Polyanthus 11.

Brown Swiss Maiden Heifer title went to R & S McColm’s Soulseat Pitagora Molly praised by USA-based judge Jay Fledderjohann for balance and cleanness right through her feet and legs. She is by Superbrown Pitagora PI and out of Buttertons Cosmos Molly.

Maiden Heifer Class for the Jersey went to a ‘sharp, clean entry’ from The Saxby Family, Saxown Excitation Heidi 14, which is by Bridon Excitation and out of Saxown Remakes Heidi 15.
