Livestock culled for foot and mouth on neighbouring farm

Precautionary culling for foot and mouth is currently underway at a second holding near Egham in Surrey.

It is reported that about 800 pigs and 40 head of cattle are in the process of being slaughtered at Whitehall Farm, owned by Ernie Ward, which neighbours yesterday’s first outbreak.

Mr Ward was featured yesterday lunchtime on national television, saying that he had not had any communication from DEFRA regarding the outbreak.
