Longhorns sell to 2000gns at Sedgemoor

A 19 month old bull by Long Ash Captain sold for the top price of 2000gns at the Fourth Mid West Longhorn Breeders Production Sale at Sedgemoor.


Long Ash Invincible from Sid Hollier’s well known Long Ash Herd, Dorchester, Dorset is out of Long Ash Abracadabra and sold to Seery’s of Hatherleigh.


The day’s top priced female was the in-calf heifer, Harford Heather which sold for 1250gns. She is by Blackbrook Midas and in-calf to the prize-winning sire, Gorse Monsignor. This one was sold by Mrs P C Quinn, Cheltenham to S S Parket and Son, Cornwall.


Mrs Quinn also claimed the top priced cow and calf with Harford Gloria and her heifer calf at foot, Harford Joanna. They sold for 1180gns.


Maiden heifers sold to 840gns for Long Ash lora by Long Ash Captain. She is out of a Culcombe bred dam.


Steers generated spirited bidding, selling to £470 for P Morgan and £460 for David and Pat Lawrence of the ‘Tripps’ herd.
