Claiming second place was Phil Sellers with Big Bucks, a 586kg April 2007 born entry, while third place went to Steve Priestly’s Bobby, who weighed in at 584kg.

In the sheep section judge Steve Gibbons is pressing on well and had sorted the first three classes in quick time. In the first for native sired shortwool lambs under 80kg Messrs Allen took first and second places with their Suffolk crosses.
The second class for the lambs bred the same way, but over 81kg Messrs Allen again claimed first place with another pair of Suffolk crosses, while Prendwick and Rothill Fams took second and third places again with Suffolk crosses.
In the class for longwool sired lambs first place went to Messrs Brown with a pair of Mules, second to Messrs Allen with a duo of Mashams, while third prize went to J, K and M Dale again with a pair of Mules.
