New prime stock cattle record sale of 230p/kg at Exeter


IMG_0424 web.JPGKivells and Husseys of Exeter saw a new ‘all time’ record set for the prime stock cattle sales at Exeter this week with a top call of 230p/kg.

The bid was achieved for the pick of homebred continental cattle from Michael Harvey and Family of Bovey Tracey. The Harvey Family saw their eight finished steers and heifers average 216.4p/kg.

Senior Cattle Auctioneer Simon Alford said “It was wonderful to see just shy of 100 prime and OTM cattle and 1,500 sheep at Exeter on Monday from farms as far west as Liskeard in Cornwall and as far north as Rackenford in North Devon & Wellington in Somerset.
