No flu in EU poultry flocks
EU poultry flocks remain free of avian flu, after confirmation that the suspect case in Greece two weeks ago was not the deadly H5N1 strain that hit south-east Asia.
Following the death of a turkey on the Greek island of Oinouses, samples were sent to the EU reference laboratory at Weybridge in Surrey.
Last weekend the EU Commission confirmed that the tests had come back negative.
But the EU remains on high alert after confirmed cases in Romania, Turkey, Russia and Croatia.
