Blelack Blackrod web.jpgThe Oakchurch Aberdeen-Angus herd of Jeremy and Ala Price, Staunton-on-Wye, Herefordshire, ha purchased a new herd sire from Neil and Graeme Massie, Blelack.

The bull Blelack Blackrod L774, has been bought privately in a five figure deal and was selected for his presence, style, length, muscling and exceptional breed character.

Blackrod L774 is a son of Blelack Equity J127, himself a son of Netherallan Peter Pershore and out of the 32,000gns cow Blelack Eyrie G197.

He is out of Blelack Blackbird G761, a Nightingale Ernie daughter from the herd’s famous Blackbird family, whose first son sold for 6500gns.

Commenting on their new purchase Jeremy Price said: “Blackrod L774 has been an easy choice for the Oakchurch herd and is just the bull we’ve been looking for, being full of power, length, style and muscle and combining this with an exceptional pedigree.

“We’re very excited to have secured him for the Oakchurch herd and look forward to his first progeny hitting the ground in due course.”
